Foreign students became participants of the Freshman Day, which was held for foreign students of Tambov State University. At the concert, new members of the Derzhavin family presented creative performances that characterize not only their country, but also Russia.
“This academic year more than 500 people from 30 countries of the world became first-year students of TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin,” said Tatyana Osadchaya, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Foreign Students Affairs. “Now and for the next six years, Derzhavin University will unite all of the freshmen and their great dream is to become a highly qualified doctor.”
The Freshman Day became part of the social and cultural project “Welcome to TSU!” which deals with the adaptation of foreign first-year students. The project was launched last autumn. It included a series of master classes in general legal issues, excursions in Tambov, intellectual quizzes and classes in the Russian language and history. The project became the winner of the All-Russian Competition of Youth Projects among Educational Organizations of Higher Education in 2018. The competition was organized by Rosmolodezh and Resource Youth Center.
