Foreign students of Derzhavin University took part in the event “A Story You Cannot Forget!”, dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. It was approved by the UN General Assembly on November 1, 2005, and is celebrated annually on January 27.
During the meeting, TSU foreign students and representatives of Tambov Jewish community honored the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, remembered the tragic pages of history, got acquainted with "Stolpersteine" project (Stumbling Stones), read poems, dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust.
- Today I've heard about the terrible events that took place with the Jewish people in 1933-1945. A lot of Jewish people now live in Morocco, and we all honor their culture and traditions, - said Norddin Chimi, a student of the TSU Medical Institute from Morocco. - Our King Mohammed VI constantly says that there are no Jews and Muslims in Morocco - there is a big Moroccan mutual nation.
