The 9th International Student Festival “Days of National Cultures” is taking place at Derzhavin University. The festival started with the competition “The Best Room in a Dormitory”, in which the national color and original ideas of the interior of the rooms in the university dormitories were evaluated.
Within the framework of the festival, a competition of national cuisine “Dishes of the people of the world” was held at TSU. Representatives from Tanzania, South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Uzbekistan, India, Nigeria and Russia took part in it - a total of 11 teams. Students presented their national dishes.
«Such contests contribute to the formation of friendly relations between young people from different countries and denominations», - said Irina Bezukladova, head of the Department of International Relations of the TSU. - We also plan to hold round tables on the export of Russian education, migration policy and adaptation of foreign students.
According to a student from Morocco, Mohamed Amin Stitu, he wanted to show not only the national flavor of his country, but also to treat the jury and the guests of the competition with delicious home-made Moroccan food.
International festival «Days of National Cultures in the TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin» is an annual cultural program for Russian and foreign students. TSU unites more than 1500 young people from different countries who share the national traditions and customs of their homeland.
The festival will continue with the contest «My Country», which will be held on April, 24. Students will talk about national holidays, demonstrate original costumes, songs and dances. On the International Day of Dance, April, 29, will be a competition "Tambov dance". The program will consist of traditional folk dances and modern national compositions. The festival gala concert will be held on June, 4 at the TSU Student Theater. Winners of competitions and guests from different regions of Russia will take part in it.
