Professors and students of Derzhavin university honored the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in the Republic of Northern Macedonia. In the city of Skopje - the capital of the Republic of Northern Macedonia - they installed a wall of memory with photos of the participants of the Great Patriotic War. At the invitation of the Macedonian side, a delegation of the Tambov State University took part in the memory action. The ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Northern Macedonia Sergey Bazdnikin also visited the place to honor the memory of the heroes.
In the Republic of Serbia on the eve of Victory Day, the delegation of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin took part in a round table, devoted to the role of the Soviet Union in the victory in World War II. The meeting was held at Belgrade State University. Serbian and Russian teachers and students honored a minute of silence in memory of the fallen heroes.
The participants in the meeting spoke about the inadmissibility of distorting the history and diminishing the role of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism. Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Professor Liliana Markovich expressed interest in the development of academic cooperation between the two universities in the study of Russian language and Russian culture. After the round table was completed, students had the opportunity to communicate in an informal setting.
