The half-marathon "ZaBeg" was held in 18 cities of Russia. In St. Petersburg a student of the Medical Institute of TSU from India Kartik Kerker took part in it. He ran a distance of 10 km in 31.42 minutes, setting a personal record. The athlete was the best, leaving behind 3296 participants.

- The first time I participated in an event of this magnitude. For me, this performance is at a new level. I usually run 1.5 and 5 km, - shared Kartik Kerker. - I did not think I could win - just ran for myself. In order to succeed, we must believe in ourselves, in our own strength and capabilities. My plan was quite simple: I sped up at the last kilometer, and it worked. I would like to say special thanks to my coach, Vladislav Kamensky, for help in planning the training sessions. Now my goal is to take part in the national championship this summer.

Kartik is engaged in polyathlon from the 1st course. He went to competitions in St. Petersburg from Sasovo, where he performed in four types of Russian junior championships in polyathlon in the Pentathlon running competition.
