TSU - the federal platform for the development of international medical volunteering

The Tambov regional department of the Volunteers-Medicsl All-Russian Public Movement, together with Derzhavin University, in early May launched a unique program for the integration of foreign medical students studying in Russia into medical volunteering.

As a result, the university will develop a methodology for the integration of foreign students into volunteering for the whole country.

The program is designed to teach foreign students а technology of medical volunteering, so that students can learn how the volunteering model works in the health sector in the region and can apply it in their own country, while maintaining links with Russia and medical volunteers.

The All-Russian Public Movement “Volunteers-Medics”, founded in 2013 by the activists of the “Sklif Volunteers” project, is today one of the largest volunteer organization in the field of health care in Europe. In Russia, with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, 83 regional branches of the Public Medical Service Volunteers-Physics have been opened, uniting over 18 thousand people from 16 years and older.

The participants of the movement provide assistance to the staff of medical institutions, accompany sports and mass events, increase the level of medical literacy of the population, promote the development of blood donation and promote a healthy lifestyle, and conduct vocational guidance among schoolchildren.
