Mathematics of the Tambov and Mozambique Universities Continue 20-Year Collaboration

11 July 2019

Rector of the TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin Vladimir Stromov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Eduardo Mondlane University (Maputo, Mozambique). The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM): Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science Joao Paulo Munembe and Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics Andrei Shindyapin.

- The cooperation of mathematicians of the Tambov (Russia) and Mozambique universities began about 20 years ago with joint research studies on modeling the dynamics of epidemics. In particular, they studied functional differential models of the spread of HIV / AIDS, taking into account the many factors that influence the incidence rate. These studies were carried out with the support of grants from the Norwegian Committee for the Development of University Science and Education, the Swedish International Cooperation and Development Agency, - said TSU Rector Vladimir Stromov. - Now, in addition to research on the dynamics of epidemics, research teams of partner universities are studying non-linear multivalued analysis, the theory of functional differential equations and control theory.
