The XXX World Summer Universiade ended in the Italian city of Naples. Women's volleyball team of Russia won the "gold". Undergraduates of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin Anna Lazareva and Angelina Sperskayte were among the players the Russian team.

The Russian women's volleyball team took the lead in the group, beating Canada, Mexico, Thailand and the Czech Republic. In the semifinals, the Russians defeated the volleyball players from Japan, and in the final they met with the hostesses of the Universiade - the Italians, who were beaten with the score 3: 1.

Anna Lazareva scored 24 points in the final match, Angelina Sperskayte - 16: the highest number of points in the final match in the Russian women's volleyball team. Our team was trained by Andrei Voronkov.
