On the International Day of Arabic Language TSU hosted master classes in Arabic calligraphy and a round table discussion “Arabic Language in the Modern World” with the participation of foreign students and students of the Pedagogical Institute.
According to Tatyana Osadchaya, Vice-rector for International Activities and Work with Foreign Students, today at Tambov State University study more than 1,500 students, who speak Arabic. These are students from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Somalia and Tunisia.
On December, 18 the International Arabic Language Day is celebrated annually under the auspices of the United Nations. Arabic is a mother tongue of 300 million people worldwide.
