TSU established the Center for International Student Cooperation. This is a new structure of the University, which aims to consolidate the activities of educational organizations of higher education in the Tambov region on the adaptation and support of international students.

First of all, employees of the Center will be engaged in legal advice, language support and psychological support for international students. The Center will initiate and organize thematic events aimed at favorable intercultural interaction and tolerance. Tambov region will have a hotline for educational organizations and international students for prompt interaction in emergency situations and a reference and searchable Internet portal "GeoGuide" on objects of natural and historical and cultural heritage of the region.

- Today Derzhavin University is the leader in the number of international students among other universities in the region. For the last 10 years the flow of students from other countries to TSU has increased 20 times, - says the Director of the Center for International Student Cooperation Dmitry Gritskov. - During these years, Derzhavin University has gained extensive experience working with international students, which we want to share with other universities.

International students from Derzhavin State University, TSTU and MichSAU were invited to the Center's presentation. Among them were students of Egypt, Iran, Bangladesh, India, Congo and China. The staff members told the audience what the Center could do for the students and presented the regional program "Residents #ISIC68". The goal of the program is to identify and support talented and active international students. The Center staff will help the students to make themselves known in the forum campaign and apply for grant contests. Active and motivated students who become residents of the Center for International Student Cooperation will be able to work with international freshmen themselves.

- Working as a resident is a great responsibility," - said 4th-year student Azarual Moon. - I remember my first years in Tambov, I know the challenges my friends faced. And now it is in my power to help new international students of TSU to adapt to Russia as quick and comfortable as possible.
