TSU is a member of the international engineering center in the oil and gas industry. A meeting was held at the central office of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in Moscow. It was devoted to issues of the organization of the International Engineering Center in the oil and gas industry. The purpose of the center is the establishment and development of international partnerships, the exchange of experience in the application of the use of new engineering solutions and the training of specialists.

The investor of the project and the representative of the center in the Kingdom of Bahrain was one of the oil producing companies of the Gulf countries «Riyada Group». The Russian side was represented by a number of universities, structures of the Academy of Sciences and management companies. One of the invited universities was Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin. The university has interested investors with its developments in the field of protecting metals from corrosion in non-aqueous environments and environmental protection, as well as in creating new materials, technologies for protecting oil and gas equipment and restoring lands damaged in the process of oil extraction.

The President of the «Riyada Group» of Companies, Sheikha Deyya Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, noted the importance of close cooperation between universities and companies seeking to develop and gain competitive advantages. Rector of TSU Vladimir Stromov took part in the signing of an agreement on the creation of an International Engineering Center.
