Tambov residents held the first summer weekend with music: the Interregional Festival «Derzhavinsky & Jazz-2018» was held at the TSU Educational Theater. Students of the University, professional and amateur jazz bands and performers from other regions — these are those who delighted listeners.

The revived festival has been going on for the second year already. Before "Jazz at the Tsna-2017" the last concert was played in 2006.

"Brilliant, delightful, amazing!" These are probably the words that can be said today to all those who have been performing for two days on this stage. I am personally far from music, but today jazz has actually won my heart,” TSU Rector Vladimir Stromov shared his impressions. “The jazz festival, as it seems to me, is gaining momentum every year. Yuri Sergin, Musical Director and Conductor of the TSU band, has an idea to make a contest from the festival, and I find it very promising. I think we will consider and support it.”

The performers include the TSU band, jazz orchestra of the Lipetsk House of Music, Lugansk ensemble of variety and jazz music "SOMVO", and others. Derzhavin University, thatks to support of the Department of Education and Science of the Tambov Region, the Department of Culture and Archives of the Tambov Region, and the Department for Physical Culture and Sports of the Tambov Region, gathered at the festival jazz bands from Tambov, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Lugansk, Engels and Saratov.

“It’s not the first time that I attend such concerts of Derzhavin University: I am a big fan of jazz. This time I am impressed with the level of technical support. The sound was really good, and the video broadcast was organized professionally,” Dmitry Sergeev, TSU graduate student shared his impressions. “I was delighted by the performers. Tambov team "Johnson's Brass" is especially memorable: the guys really made the audience happy.”
