At the invitation of the Serbian Royal Academy of Innovative Sciences, the delegation of Derzhavin University visited the universities of Serbia.

TSU has been cooperating with educational, scientific, public organizations and schools in Serbia since 2011. During this time, dozens of joint projects have been implemented, including exchange programs for teachers and students, participation in scientific, socio-cultural and sports events organized by partner universities.

In 2019, Serbian students and teachers, together with students and teachers of Derzhavin University, took part in the Immortal Regiment action in Belgrade. Over the years of cooperation, teleconferences have become regular with the Russian-Serbian Friendship Society "Resava" and with the secondary school in the city of Despotovac, dedicated to the Russian language, the Victory in World War II, Russian and Serbian traditions and folk art.

During the visit, members of the TSU delegation met with representatives of the "Russian House" in Belgrade, where they discussed broadening of academic cooperation between Derzhavin University and universities in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

In the city of Novi Pazar, Serbian students of high schools, universities and secondary vocational institutions were delivered presentations about TSU and the Institute of Natural Sciences. Here, a cooperation agreement was signed with the secondary school "Nikola Tesla" and an agreement was reached on sending students of secondary vocational education majoring in medicine to study at Derzhavin University.

- We are very grateful to the administration of Derzhavin University for supporting our joint projects, - said Birsen Naumovich-Dulevich, founder of the secondary school "Nikola Tesla" in Novi Pazar. – We were greatly impressed by the University infrastructure and scientific basis. We are interested in sending our graduates to study at Derzhavin Tambov State University.

On the day of the 24th anniversary of the NATO aggression against independent Yugoslavia, members of the delegation paid tribute and laid flowers at the memorial to the heroes who died during the bombing of Yugoslavia in the city of Raska.

- Russia and Serbia are linked by centuries of history, allied relations, common culture and religion, - said Pavel Moiseev, rector of Derzhavin University. “All this is the foundation for our cooperation. Therefore, we develop and expand academic and socio-cultural ties with Serbian partners. The University would gladly accept young people from Serbia for training.

In May this year, a Serbian delegation is expected to visit Derzhavin University for a more detailed discussion of international projects.
