The International thematic School "Keep Knowledge" was held at Derzhavin University. The participants were students of the 11th grades of Sukhum (Republic of Abkhazia), specialized classes of Derzhavin University and high school students of the "Ecotech School" of Kotovsk.
The program included familiarization with the infrastructure and training areas of Derzhavin University, psychological trainings, master classes in Russian icon painting, chemistry and robotics, a training seminar on personal planning and time management. Schoolchildren also got acquainted with the history of Tambov.
– In modern conditions, Derzhavin University is looking for new ways to expand international relations, – says Acting Rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseev. – The school "Keep knowledge" has become another step towards strengthening the university's position in the educational space of the near abroad. The implementation of such projects gives students the opportunity to learn more about our University and make their choice in favor of Derzhavin University in the future.
The participants of the School attended master classes at the "Ecotech School" in Kotovsk. At a meeting with the head of Kotovsk, schoolchildren discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of education. The head of the city presented everyone with a tumbler with the logo of the School, made at the factory "Kotovsky tumblers".
– We were met and accompanied by reliable partners from Derzhavin University, – says Nina Storozhenko, deputy director of the part-time school of Sukhum. – The children are very happy, they liked everything. They enjoyed communicating with their peers and getting to know the university. We, the teachers, are pleased that they exchanged impressions. Some told about Tambov, others – about Kotovsk, others – about Abkhazia. Your guys don't know much about Abkhazia, and our guys know almost nothing about Tambov. I believe that such projects are necessary because they contribute to the development of mutual understanding between our countries.
Trainings on intercultural communication, seminars on literature dedicated to the work of M.Y. Lermontov, a master class on financial literacy and the peculiarities of the hotel business were held at the University recreation center "Galdym".
– Derzhavin University and the Department of Education of the Sukhum City Administration signed an agreement in May 2021, – said Irina Bezukladova, Director of the Department of International Relations of Derzhavin University. – During this time, our partnership with educational organizations in Sukhum has noticeably strengthened. Currently, 12 students from Abkhazia are studying at Derzhavin University. One of the tasks of the "Keep Knowledge" school is to introduce eleventh graders and colleagues from Sukhum to the infrastructure of our University and discuss prospects for further cooperation.
