International students of Derzhavin University - Mohammad Reda Saidi and Peng Jiao Jiao became full-time participants of the International Summer School of History for international students studying at Russian universities and young Russian historians abroad.

The International History School 2021 was held in the town of Vyborg in the Leningrad region. It was commissioned by President Vladimir Putin and conducted by the Russian Historical Society, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the State Academic University for the Humanities with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, the History of the Fatherland Foundation and the Government of the Leningrad Region.

The School worked in several thematic areas: "Imperial heritage of Russia in a comparative perspective (to the 300th anniversary of the proclamation of Russia as an Empire)"; "Memory of the Great Patriotic War and crimes of Nazi invaders on the territory of the Soviet Union (to the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War)"; "Russia in the history of great scientific and technological breakthroughs (to the 60th anniversary of the first human space flight)"; "Art and culture of Russia in the New and Newest Time".

Participation in the International Summer School of History allowed Derzhavin students to expand their knowledge of Russian history and culture; to meet famous researchers, heads of academic institutions and leading universities, major archives and museums; to receive support in implementing their own historical and educational initiatives.

- The School has given us the opportunity to forget about reality for a while and put our whole soul into the process. It is a tremendous experience: the History School absorbed the knowledge of professors from all over the world, the activities of volunteers, the best practices of students, which creates a genuine interest in a deeper study of Russian history, - shared representatives of the University of Derzhavin, participants of the School Mohammed Reda Saidi and Peng Jiao Jiao. - We learned more about Russian history and culture and made new friends from all over the world.
