Graduates gathered at the all-university ceremony, Derzhavin Assembly. Professors and TSU employees, parents of graduates and foreign guests were also presented at Music Square.

The ceremony began with a procession of the University graduates. They lined up in columns with the deans of the faculties at the head, and then the square was filled with gowns and confederates. The Assembly was traditionally opened with polonaise and waltz performed by the graduates.

The rector of TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin congratulated ex-students.

“2018 is a special year for the University: this is the year of our centennial. More than 1,700 people became graduates of the University in this significant year. For the first time graduates of the bachelor’s degree took part in the Federal Internet Examination, which allowed us to conduct an objective analysis of the individual educational achievements and the quality of the educational programs. As a result, TSU became the owner of a quality certificate, which confirms a decent level of professional skills of bachelors in "Economics" and "Law". The desire to work will help you to become specialists in your industry. It is important to understand where you are, what you want and what opportunities for self-realization you have,” Vladimir Stromov says.

The city and region leaders also congratulated the graduates. Nikolay Yeltsov, Head of the Cadastral Service of the Tambov region and Chairman of the Association of TSU Graduates wished students not to lose contact with each other, to maintain friendship and not to forget alma mater. Irina Ten, Deputy Chairman of Tambov Regional Duma recollected her student years at TSU and invited graduates to cooperate. Sergey Chebotarev, Head of the city of Tambov said that it is important to have a dream and to go to its realization, and also wished to develop professionally. Tatyana Kotelnikova, Head of the Regional Department of Education and Science congratulated graduates on behalf of Alexander Nikitin, Head of the Regional Administration: "Let the TSU diploma become not only a document on education but a reliable guide on the professional path and a source of pride."

The ancient student hymn "Gaudeamus" united students and representatives from more than 60 foreign countries in an educational and creative community.

“We come from different countries and cities. But we have studied together in Tambov. We have overcome difficulties and worked as a joint team. The choice of profession is very difficult for many students. But now we are sure that the degree we received will give us confidence in the future. Thank you, TSU!" says Asantei-Badu Emmanuel Nana Kvabena, a graduate of the TSU Medical Institute from the Republic of Ghana. On this day the graduates were awarded with certificates of honor for the best portfolio of personal achievements, for their success in educational, sports, public and scientific activities, as well as for passing the Federal Internet Exam.

Alexander Rogatkin, a TSU graduate and a special correspondent of the “Russia-1” TV channel greeted TSU graduates. Parents also congratulated their children and reminded that the future depends only on them.

A nice addition to the graduation ceremony was the lottery. Graduates received souvenirs with the symbols of their university.

An energetic disco with a laser show replaced the ceremonial part of the assembly. The cover-group "Zabavi Radi", Anthony El Major and DJ Denis Rublev were special musical gifts.

At the end of the celebration, graduates released balloons of happiness, making the most cherished desires. The final chord was the hymn of the University under the salute.
