The Institute of Law and National Security offers a wide range of educational programs. Students receive fundamental knowledge, practical skills and professional competencies necessary for a successful career as a lawyer or a security specialist. Departments
The Departament of UNESCO on Human Rights and Democracy was created as a branch of the UNESCO Departament on Human Rights and Democracy of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The Department focuses its activities on teaching students majoring in Criminal Law. The main disciplines in this area of study include Criminal Law, Criminology, Prosecutorial Supervision, Criminal Executive Law, Sentencing in Russian Criminal Law, Problems of Criminal Legislation, Problems of Qualification of Crimes, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Technology, Criminal Law in Foreign Countries, Problems of Preliminary Investigation. The results of students' scientific research are presented in collections of scientific works.
The teaching staff of the Department is represented by leading experts in the field of criminal law, criminology and criminal procedure. Leading specialists, who have enormous practical experience, are involved in teaching, including representatives of the Prosecutor's Office of the Tambov Region, the Tambov Regional Court, the Arbitration Court of the Tambov Region, and the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Tambov Region.
The material and technical facilities of the Department consist of the department’s office, criminological room, criminology center, where methodological support and visual aids in criminal law are presented.

The Department trains students in the following programs: 40.03.01 “Law” (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), 40.05.01 “Legal Support of National Security” (specialist’s degree), 40.05.04 “Judicial and Prosecutorial Activities” (specialist’s degree), 5.1.1 “Theoretical and Historical Legal Sciences” (PhD).
Despite the fact that the Department is theoretical orientated, teaching activities are carried out by practicing lawyers who successfully combine scientific, practical, organizational and managerial activities.

The Department provides training students in the specialist’s degree program “Legal Support of National Security”. The training is profession-oriented, which allows students to acquire fundamental knowledge together with practical skills in professional activities. The Department staff teaches disciplines for which teaching materials have been created, including all necessary materials for conducting lectures, laboratory and practical classes in provision state security. The material and technical facilities of the Department include a photo laboratory, a forensic testing ground, a shooting range (for shooting from firearms), gyms (general physical and professional-applied physical training), classrooms of special equipment, fire training, tactical and special training, and first aid, which are equipped with poster stands, video library, visual aids and various technical means. These facilities contribute to students’ better mastering the course content, and also provides an opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

The Department of Constitutional and International Law is an administering department for students doing the bachelor’s degree program in Law (40.03.01) and majoring in State Law, as well as for master’s degree students studying Law (40.04.01), master’s degree program “Organization of Public and Municipal Service in Russian Federation". In addition, the teaching staff of the Department participates in the implementation of educational programs in the field of study “Law” (40.03.01), majors “Civil Law” and “Criminal Law”, specialist’s degree programs “Legal Support of National Security” (40.05.01) and “Judicial and Prosecutorial Activities” (40.05.04).

The Department implements educational programs of higher education: 40.03.01 - Jurisprudence and 40.04.01 - Jurisprudence (Legal regulation of property relations) and 40.04.01 - Jurisprudence (Legal regulation of the digital economy); educational program of secondary vocational education 40.02.01 – Law and organization of social security. The teaching staff of the department is professors and associate professors with extensive teaching experience and experience in professional activities. Lectures of the department are authors of scientific articles, monographs, educational and teaching aids on the disciplines taught. Elements of e-learning and distance learning technologies are used in educational process. Work experience internship and research practices take place in institutions, enterprises and organizations of various organizational and legal forms, as well as in courts of general jurisdiction and arbitration courts. Lectures of the department carry out extracurricular activities with students, organize round tables on various scientific and legal topics, master classes, and discussion platforms.

The Department provides guidance and training to students specializing in civil law.
The Department staff teaches courses in general professional disciplines (Civil Procedure Law, Labor Law, Family Law, Private International Law) and civil law disciplines (Notarial System, Arbitration Proceedings, Enforcement Proceedings, Fundamentals of Advocacy, Administrative Proceedings).

Сenters and Laboratories
Students of the Institute of Law and National Security have the opportunity to practice the rules for conducting a court hearing and the rules for conducting individual procedural actions. Participation in game court hearings with a procedural form of court hearings allows students to feel the atmosphere of a real court session, which is important in raising their awareness of the role of a judge, prosecutor, lawyer in the protection of civil rights. The hall is equipped with poster stands, a video library, visual aids and various technical means, the use of which helps students better assimilate educational material, and also provides an opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
The laboratory includes two internal forensic testing areas, modern special technical equipment, visual aids and literature necessary for organizing and conducting laboratory, practical, and research work. During the training process, students master practical techniques and methods of crime investigation, skills in researching forensic techniques: video recording, digital photography, working with traces.
A special place in the educational and laboratory complex is occupied by specialized multifunctional classrooms-training grounds, simulating the premises of a living room and a commercial facility (store), where it is possible to simulate various situations that arise in investigative practice when inspecting a crime scene.
The polygons are divided into two independent parts. One part serves as an audience, and the other completely simulates a crime scene. Thus, while one part of the students is carrying out an investigative action, the other is observing their work, identifying and recording shortcomings and positive aspects, which are subsequently discussed during a general discussion under the guidance of a teacher for educational purposes.
The forensic digital darkroom functions as a base for the educational process.
