About the Institute
The Pedagogical Institute is one of the leading educational institutions in the region. The Institute offers a wide range of teaching specialties that allow students to master professions in the field of primary, secondary and higher education and work in educational institutions of various levels and types. The Institute has highly qualified teaching staff, which brings together professionals with extensive experience. Students have the opportunity to undertake internships at leading schools and institutions in the region, which gives them valuable experience and allows them to gain a deeper understanding of their future professional path. Research work is actively developing at the Institute; students have the opportunity to take part in conferences, seminars and scientific projects.
Departments
The Department trains undergraduate and graduate students majoring in “Special (Defectological) Education” and secondary vocational education students majoring in “Special Preschool Education.”
The Department employs specialists in the field of speech therapy, oligophrenopedagogy, typhlopedagogy, deaf pedagogy, etc. The main goal set by the teaching staff of the Department of Defectology is training highly professional personnel to provide defectological assistance to children with special educational needs.
There is a variety of scientific clubs at the Department including “Correctional and pedagogical support for children with intellectual disabilities”, “Psychological and pedagogical support for children with speech disorders”, “Diagnostics and correction of the development of children with impaired hearing function”, “Problems of preschool children”.
Key areas of research:
- Improvement of practice-oriented training of students for professional activities.
- Early diagnosis and early correctional assistance for children with disabilities.
- Modern technologies of special, inclusive education and the development of innovative technologies for psychological and pedagogical support for children with disabilities.
Traditional events organized by the Department:
- Annual All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Socialization of Children with Disabilities: Experience, Problems, Innovations”.
- Annual All-Russian Student Competition of Scientific Works “Current Problems of Defectology As Viewed by Students.”
The Department of Specialized Pre-University Training implements the basic general educational program of secondary general education in the following areas of study:
humanitarian, technological, socio-economic, natural science, universal.
The teaching staff of the Department is highly qualified, including holders of doctorate degrees, associate professors and professors, honored workers of secondary vocational education, experts on the Unified State Exam, authors of textbooks and methodological recommendations on the disciplines being taught. The Department carries out scientific research in the field of educational technologies, systematization of practices based on methods for implementing the secondary general education program and analysis of the effectiveness of the use of leading educational technologies to improve the quality of student training.
