At the Higher School of Journalism and Mass Communications of St. Petersburg State University as part of the forum “Media in the modern world. The 63rd St. Petersburg Readings" held a round table "Teaching journalism in the context of updating social and humanitarian disciplines." The draft educational and methodological complex in journalism for non-core areas of training was presented for expert discussion by representatives of the support and methodological center of Derzhavin University. The round table was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosova, academician Elena Vartanova; Director of the Institute “Higher School of Journalism and Mass Communications” of St. Petersburg State University Anatoly Puyu; Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at VSU Vladimir Tulupov and many others. The content gaps in the educational and methodological complex project were discussed, and the course methodology was analyzed. Work on the educational and methodological complex “Journalism” for non-core areas of training is underway at Derzhavin University on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation within the framework of the project “DNA of Russia” to develop and include in educational programs of higher education the module “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood”. The “DNA of Russia” project is aimed at involving the academic community of the Russian Federation in the implementation of state policy in the field of education and higher education, in particular, in the process of creating a new unified approach to teaching a block of humanities in higher education in accordance with state ideology.
At the forum “Media in the modern world. The 63rd St. Petersburg Readings" working meetings were held with the team of authors of the textbook "Journalism" for non-core areas of training.
