The Year of Sports has started in Derzhavin University. The university is the flagship of student sports in the region, the victories of our students are known inthe Russian arena and abroad.
For more than 75 years, Derzhavin University has been training specialists in the field of physical education and sports. The university has formed teams in 19 sports: hockey, volleyball (men's and women's), basketball (men's and women's), football, cross-country skiing, athletics, summer polyathlon, e-sports, cheerleading, computer programming, chess, sports tourism, speed skating , taekwondo, powerlifting, judo and sambo.
Students of Derzhavin University have the opportunity to train and maintain their physical fitness at Palace of Sports “Antey”, Derzhavin ice skating rink, fitness center “Atletico”, stadium, sports games hall , sports hall, gymnastics hall, health and rehabilitation center "Parallel", sports hall and sports grounds with artificial turf in the recreation center "Molodezhny".
Athletes from all over Russia come to Derzhavin competitions. “Derzhavinskaya Mile” annually attracts more than 1000 people, guests from 17 regions of the country. More than 600 participants take part in the Derzhavinskaya Ski Track, and the Derzhavinskaya Regatta on the Tsna River is represented by no less than 50 crews.
The university also hosts an annual sports competition among students of all departments in nine sports: mini-football, athletics, darts, volleyball, swimming, basketball, shooting, table tennis, all-around GTO. More than 1,000 students compete throughout the academic year.
