Starting from the new academic year, young student mothers will be able to leave their children during classes under the supervision of a teacher. The premises are located on the university campus on Komsomolskaya Square within walking distance from the academic buildings. The creation of a room for children is the next step to support young families. In recent years, the university has been improving a comfortable environment for students and young families of employees: expanding opportunities for quality medical care in the university’s clinical center, improving legal and psychological support mechanisms. Together with DOM.RF and the regional government, next year a rental house will be commissioned, in which two floors will be allocated for apartments for student families.
“If you study at Derzhavin University and decide to start a family and have children, you do not need to worry about housing and survival. The university, on behalf of the state, will help you - quickly, targetedly,” says the rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseev, “I know that many universities provide financial assistance to family students, students with children. This includes housing, kindergartens, medicine, flexible work schedules, an individual curriculum, and child care.”
Derzhavin University was chosen as the operator of the All-Russian competition “Help Mom Learn,” which is held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. This is a mechanism for distributing funds for the development of infrastructure elements for the education of young families with children at winning universities.
