The forum was opened by the head of the Tambov Region Maxim Egorov. He addressed the participants of the forum saying
– At present, our country is being subjected to information attacks from unfriendly states. A real cyber war is underway, and people are under powerful psychological pressure. In these conditions, it is important to preserve traditional Russian spiritual and moral values. I believe that only those for whom this environment is native can become ambassadors in the media environment – young people, bloggers, media volunteers. This means that together we can resist information attacks.
Ekaterina Kharchenko, State Duma deputy, deputy chair of the Committee on Science and Higher Education addressed the students with a welcoming speech. She emphasized that the forum participants have a unique opportunity to improve their competence, gain new knowledge and skills in the media space and wished them successful and fruitful work at the forum.

All of Russia” for the second year in a row, – comments Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University. – Last November, the university successfully implemented the district project “Media Volunteer Forum “Live Meaningfully” supported by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). This year, the project has an all-Russian level. The forum brought together 800 young people from 45 regions of Russia, including university students from new regions and schoolchildren. – The main ideas that we will discuss today are related to the cultural code of Russian journalism, – says Professor Elena Vartanova, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Philology. – This concept is becoming relevant, so today I will tell you how I see it in a scientific understanding. Russian journalism is an integral part of our culture and has always emphasized the importance of man. Journalism serves people, helping to solve their problems. It should also be noted that Russian journalism is influenced not only by writers and cultural figures, but also by the country's political system. Historical facts, such as the creation of the first newspaper Vedomosti by Peter I and Tambovskie Vedomosti by Gavriil Derzhavin, confirm that journalism in Russia has always been connected with the social process, educated and brought up people.
Forum participants will be trained in communication and technical competencies of network leadership for three days. The forum will end with the defense of media education cases.
- We strive to develop in the field of journalism, and this forum provides excellent opportunities for this, - comments Sergey Zhikharev, a 4th-year student majoring in Journalism at Luhansk State Pedagogical University. - Thanks to the support of Derzhavin and Luhansk universities, we decided not to miss the chance and take part in the forum to gain valuable experience and new knowledge.
