The Derzhavin University Sports Museum has opened an exhibition dedicated to the achievements of the Russian sambo wrestler and judoka, winner and prize winner of the Russian and European championships, five-time world champion in sambo, graduate of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the University, Honored Master of Sports of Russia Sergei Ryabov.
Sergei Ryabov is a legend of sports, his sports biography serves as an example for the younger generation. Our fellow countryman, a native of the village of Belomestnaya Kriusha, began training with Evgeny Bykov and Alexey Inyakin at the age of 15. Thanks to his hard work and unique athletic talent, he achieved excellent sports results, becoming the champion of Russia, silver medalist of the European Grand Slam tournament in France, and multiple world champion in sambo. In 2011, Sergey Ryabov graduated from the Derzhavin Tambov State University, but always maintained contact with his home university. Thirteen years later, he continued his studies at Derzhavin University again. Together with colleagues from the Sambo-70 Sports and Education Center, he completed professional retraining courses at the University under the program "Organizational and methodological support for rehabilitation activities with Special Military Operation participants by means of adaptive physical culture", receiving an additional qualification as an instructor-methodologist in adaptive sports. All these years, Sergey Ryabov communicates with coaches and mentors, actively promotes the development of combat sports in the region. On his initiative, martial arts master classes and open regional competitions among young men and women in sambo and judo are held at the Tambov STC. Many masters of sports with the support of Sergey Ryabov became students and later graduates of Derzhavin University - Honored Master of Sports in Sambo Svetlana Uvarova, Honored Master of Sports in Beach Sambo Oksana Kobeleva, winner of the European Junior Sambo Championship Rustam Baytuev, winner of the All-Russian Student Sambo Competition Daniil Kudyakov and others.
The new exhibition in the Derzhavin Sports Museum is presented by a collection of exclusive items from the personal collection of the titled athlete. Among the exhibits is Sergey Ryabov's uniform, in which he won the gold medal of the World Championship, a copy of the certificate of Honored Master of Sports in Sambo, high sports awards - cups and medals of All-Russian and international tournaments.
- During his studies at the University, Sergey Ryabov proved himself not only as a talented athlete, but also a responsible student, - says Anatoly Sychev, director of the Derzhavin Sports Museum. - We are in touch regularly, we meet at competitions in Tambov. Therefore, the exhibition dedicated to the famous master will certainly grow and expand.
