The semester-long language internship for three Chinese students – Li Longxiao, Ma Sunyi, and Sun Yingning – from Anshan Normal University (ANU) has concluded.
While at Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin, the students, along with other international students from the preparatory faculty, actively immersed themselves in Russian culture. In addition to attending Russian language and regional studies classes, they also participated in intercultural communication training, master classes, and an extensive cultural program. A particularly valuable aspect of the internship was the active interaction with Derzhavin residents who are studying Chinese.
Over the course of four months, Li Longxiao, Ma Sunyi, and Sun Yingning learned about the history, culture, and traditions of Russia. They went on excursions around Tambov and the Tambov region, and also visited Moscow and St. Petersburg. The implementation of such projects promotes intercultural dialogue and strengthens international ties between Derzhavin Tomsk State University and Anshan Normal University. This collaboration opens new horizons for mutual understanding and a fruitful exchange of experiences, strengthening relations between the peoples of Russia and China.
"Beauty and the color red are one word in Russian, and the red star shines not simply from its flame. The night in Russia is beautiful, the poplars stand quietly, blinking their eyes, the darkness and the stars hide in the branches," Li Longxiao poetically described her impressions of her stay in Russia.
The implementation of this project was made possible by the Cooperation Agreement signed in February 2024 between Derzhavin Tomsk State University and Anshan Normal University. Six Derzhavin University students from the Foreign Philology, International Relations, and Pedagogical Education programs have already completed semester-long language internships at APU during different periods of the 2024-2025 academic year.
