A long-term cooperation agreement was signed between Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and Derzhavin Tambov State University on the sidelines of the Future Technologies Forum.
The document was signed by the vice-rectors of the two universities, Svetlana Nechaeva and Alexander Gusev. The parties agreed to combine the scientific potential and academic expertise of the two leading universities to create a sustainable foundation for training a new generation of specialists and conducting large-scale research that can boost the development of economic sectors.
A key area of cooperation will be the bioeconomy – an area designed to create a sustainable future and ensure the country's technological sovereignty through the use of renewable raw materials and biotechnology. The universities intend to jointly develop new scientific schools, initiate fundamental and applied research, and implement their results in the real sector.
The partnership will not be limited to scientific research. The universities plan to actively exchange experiences and hold joint conferences and symposia, which will help build an expert community around current challenges in modern science.
"The collaboration between our universities aims to create synergies between economic competencies and natural science research, which will form the foundation for training specialists capable of working effectively in a circular economy," said Alexander Gusev, Vice Rector for Research at Derzhavin University. "The agreement is long-term and open to new joint initiatives that meet the priorities of scientific and technological development in the Russian Federation."
The fourth Future Technologies Forum is being held at the World Trade Center in Moscow. In accordance with the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the forum is dedicated to the development of a bioeconomy in Russia and the application of biotechnology in various economic sectors.
