The autumn season of entrepreneurial skills training has launched at Derzhavin University. The goal is to help students acquire entrepreneurial skills and launch their first technology startups.
"This new training season is, first and foremost, about creating new opportunities for the students," says Natalia Kotova, Head of the Department for Youth Entrepreneurship and Project Activities at Derzhavin University. "These aren't just classes; they serve as a simulator that allows students to step into the shoes of a real tech entrepreneur and navigate typical real-world business scenarios in a single day. Derzhavin University has established a system to engage young people in entrepreneurship and project work. In addition to training sessions, we run accelerator programs—we recently launched the 'Techno-Quarter: Student Startups PRO' initiative. Every year, Derzhavin students win the 'Student Startup' competition, securing one million rubles in project funding, and participate in the 'Startup as a Thesis' program."
Under the guidance of experts Olga Andreeva and Denis Malinin, students learned how to develop technology projects. Participants generated ideas based on current trends and real-world problems. The program included business games, workshops, roadmap development, and more.
"Entrepreneurial skills training provides a safe environment where students can learn from their mistakes—something essential for achieving great results," says Olga Andreeva, a certified business trainer, startup tracker, and Head of the Department of Management and Marketing at Perm Polytechnic University (holding a Candidate of Sociological Sciences degree). "It offers a chance to view familiar situations from a fresh perspective. I sincerely hope the outcomes of these sessions will benefit those who decide to pursue entrepreneurship." Entrepreneurial competency training sessions are conducted as part of the "Technologies" federal project and the University Technology Entrepreneurship Platform. MIPT serves as the operator.
