In Derzhavin University, on the eve of Mother's Day, a solemn ceremony was held to honor mothers of many children - teachers, employees and students of the university raising three or more children. The meeting was held within the framework of the Year of the Family, declared by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
In an informal setting, the rector of Derzhavin University, Pavel Moiseev, spoke with women who successfully combine their professional and academic responsibilities with caring for children.
- In the conditions of modern society, where the balance between work and family is becoming more and more difficult, it is important to note the contribution of women to the development of the educational process and upbringing of the younger generation, - emphasized the Rector of Derzhavin Pavel Moiseev. - The University actively involved in the activities of the Year of the Family. We have become a pilot project for those measures that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia is developing and improving in relation to young families with children - this is the development of infrastructure and social support. I am convinced that universities should be full-fledged subjects of the state policy to stimulate the birth rate. And here we are talking about the fourth mission of the university.
The participants of the meeting, which took place in the format of a tea party, discussed issues of support for large families, shared proposals for organizing working conditions for women with children, and expressed possible initiatives aimed at helping parents with many children.
- In order to understand what problems large families face, an open dialog is necessary. It is great that our university has such a practice, and the rector discusses with us possible solutions,” said Tatyana Kozhevnikova, acting director of the Institute of Creative Industries, Economics and Entrepreneurship, mother of three sons.
Rector of the university Pavel Moiseev thanked the women for their invaluable maternal labor, presented bouquets of flowers and gift certificates to mothers with many children.
- I would like to wish you kindness, love and care on the part of your loved ones and admiring glances on the part of others. Let you have enough physical and mental strength for everything, and in your home always reign harmony and mutual understanding, - said the Rector of Derzhavin University.
The initiatives voiced at the meeting with parents with many children will be worked out on and implemented in Derzhavin University as a priority.
