The culmination of "China Week in Tambov" was a festive concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the establishment of Russian-Chinese diplomatic relations. It was held on the stage of the TSU Educational Theater.
In his welcoming speech, Pavel Moiseev, rector of Derzhavin University noted that despite the fact that "China Week in Tambov" is being held here only for the second time, it has become a notable cultural and socio-political event.
"In the Tambov Region there is a steady demand for study in China, the Chinese language and culture. This means that we, at Derzhavin University, are working in the right direction. My personal conviction, which I took away from my trips there, is the similarity of our mentalities. We can work together productively and achieve excellent results," comments the rector Pavel Moiseev.
Mr. Qin Haifeng, head of the delegation from the PRC, wished success to Derzhavin University, happiness, good health and well-being to all teachers and students.
“The world is yours and ours, but fundamentally it belongs to you, the youth,” these words of Chairman Mao, spoken in his famous speech at Moscow State University in 1957, were recalled by Qin Haifeng in his address to Derzhavin University.
Bright speech was delivered by First Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society, Cavalier of the Order of Friendship of the PRC Galina Kulikova. She recalled the glorious pages of the history of relations between our countries. She highly praised the activities of Derzhavin University and the regional branch of the RCFS, which is also headed by the rector.
- I am very impressed by the enthusiasm with which knowledge about our great neighbor is promoted in Tambov, - noted Galina Kulikova.
The extensive concert program included performances by students of Derzhavin University and Tambov State Musical Pedagogical Institute named after S.V. Rachmaninov. Songs in Chinese were performed, as well as Russian melodies that are well-known in China, such as "Katyusha" and "Moscow Nights". The State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Tambov Region "Ivushka" showed several numbers that were warmly received by Chinese audiences during their recent tour in China.
The years of 2024-2025 have been designated as the Years of Culture between Russia and China. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping made this decision in order to promote comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership between China and Russia in the new era.
