The China Week program in Tambov has concluded with public lectures by Alla Verchenko, a senior research assistant at the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS) and a member of the Central Board of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society.
Alla Leonidovna gave lectures on "Soviet-Chinese Combat Brotherhood" and "Russian-Chinese Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation in the 21st Century" to students of the Institute of History, Political Science, and Philology. She elaborated on China, its historical, cultural, and political characteristics, and shared some insightful and engaging personal observations that could definitely be of value for the students.
Alla Leonidovna Verchenko graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) and was sent to China, where she worked for a total of 18 years. She speaks Chinese and English. Currently, she is a senior research assistant at the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Chinese History and its Relations with Russia.
