A round table “On sports training in China and Russia: regional and country aspect” was held at Derzhavin University. The participants of the round table were students and lectures of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Derzhavin University and representatives of the Chengdu University of Sports (PRC). Issues related to the peculiarities of sports training of student-athletes in Russian and Chinese universities, the development of football in Russia and China, and the popularization and promotion of student sports in the two countries were discussed. Professor, Head of the Department of Football Theory and Methodology at Chengdu Sports University Li Pan spoke about the history and current state of the university, the achievements of the men’s and women's football teams, and the prospects for cooperation between the universities.
“We learned about Derzhavin University from its graduate Fateh Zereg,” says Li Pan, a professor at Chengdu Sports University, “We are very grateful to him for this. Nowadays I am a graduate student at Derzhavin University and I am convinced that I made the right choice. We will continue cooperation between Chengdu and Derzhavin universities. Our university has areas of training that, in my opinion, maybe of interest to students from Russia. Many Russian students are interested in Chinese medicine, Chinese sports, and martial arts, so we always welcome your students to our country. ”
Students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Derzhavin University actively inquired from representatives of the Chinese delegation about internship opportunities at Chengdu Sports University, holding joint football tournaments, and student life in China. Representatives of the two universities decided on several formats for further interaction in the field of sports.
