The V Congress of the Russian Society of Political Scientists was held in Svetlogorsk. The event became not onlyscientific, but also political. This status is due both to the practical significance of the issues being discussed and to the composition of the participants making government decisions and participating in their development.
“The theme of the congress – “Civilizational development of Russia: strategic course and political practices” – marked a departure from the interpretation of modern political processes in Russia in the spirit of “democratic transit” according to Western models.– The tone of the discussions at the congress was set by the reports of landmark thinkers and experts for the social sciences: Alexander Dugin, Oksana Gaman-Golutvina, Valery Kovalenko, Vitaly Tretyakov, Valery Fadeev. My colleagues also presented their research to the attention of the congress: Dmitry Zhukov, Dmitry Solovyov, Ilya Khabarov and Sergey Khomutinkin, ” says professor Dmitry Seltser.
Derzhavin University researchers touched upon a number of topics: from the factors of the collapse of the USSR and the progress of China, to indicators of the mobilization of protest communities in social media.
