The Derzhavin University team won prizes at the VI International Olympiad for Medical Students "Samarkand-2020." The competition was held at Samarkand State Medical University. The goal of the Olympiad is to popularize knowledge in various areas of medicine and fundamental sciences, as well as to foster interest in academics and science, and to create opportunities for the development of scientific and creative potential.
The team included representatives of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation: Associate Professor Natalia Otroshko, PhD (Chemistry); Head of the Dentistry Department, PhD (Medicine); fifth-year students Daria Katsubina and Mikhail Afonin; fourth-year student Lev Synkov; and third-year student Makhliyo Dzhalilova.
The Derzhavin University team took second place in the "Anesthesiology and Resuscitation" and "Orthopedic Dentistry" categories.
In addition, Stanislav Miklyaev conducted a webinar seminar at Samarkand State Medical University on "Oral Mucosal Diseases in Children" for fifth-year students of the SSMU Faculty of Dentistry.
