Meri Paranyan and Nailia Marchenko, students of the Institute of Medicine and Health Saving of Derzhavin University represented the university at the international summer school for medical students in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).
The platform of Samarkand State Medical University united more than 50 participants from 20 medical universities of Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The Rector of SamSMU, Professor Jasur Rizaev, who welcomed the participants at the opening of the School, noted that the International Summer School would become a platform for students to acquire new knowledge and skills, exchange ideas and experience, and establish friendly relations.
During the week, educational seminars and master classes, sports competitions and intellectual games, trips to historical places of Samarkand were held for the participants of the summer school.
The students of Derzhavin University also took part in the scientific paper contest where they presented their projects. Meri Paranyanmade made a report on the theme «Eating behavior disorder in medical students» and Nailya Marchenko presented a report «Differential approach to the method of epidural catheter fixation».
Samarkand State Medical University is a partner of Derzhavin University. Last April a face-to-face meeting between Pavel Moiseyev, rector of Derzhavin University and Jasur Rizaev, rector of SamSMU took place and in August a joint work flow chart for 2024-2025 was approved.
