In the city of Sasovo in the Ryazan region, athletes from seven regions of the Russian Federation competed in sprint running, swimming, air rifle shooting, throwing sports equipment and endurance running.
Alexander Babenko, a postgraduate student at the Institute of Education and Social Sciences, took first place in the absolute championship at the All-Russian competition among students – the Russian Student Sports Union Polyathlon Championship in the sports discipline of pentathlon with running.
In the same sport, the top 3 strongest athletes included students from the Derzhavin University Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Pavel Konstantinov and Sofya Smirnova.
In addition, the Derzhavin University team demonstrated the best result, taking 1st place in the team competition.
