The results of the Derzhavin Grant competition for small student research teams led by a supervisor have been announced at Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin. Nineteen university students have been awarded the grant. The grant was initiated by Derzhavin University Rector Pavel Moiseev as an effective measure to support the development of youth science and engage students in research.
As part of the competition, each research team was required to implement a project resulting in a research or review article published in a scientific journal indexed in the international scientometric databases Scopus or Web of Science, or included in the RSCI.
Of the 22 teams that participated in the competition, nine were named winners:
– Irina Pankova and Anastasia Nesterovich with their project "Morphological Analysis of Corneal Stromal Surfaces after Superficial Corneal Flap Formation with a Low-Energy Femtosecond Laser Using Standard and Accelerated Surgical Algorithms." Supervised by Svetlana Shutova, PhD, Associate Professor at Derzhavin University.
– Stanislav Bulochnikov and Danila Sorokin with their project "Developing Competence in Artificial Intelligence in Linguistic Students." Supervised by Pavel Sysoev, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor at Derzhavin University.
– Marina Pustovalova and Irina Kuznetsova with their project "Interconnected Teaching of Foreign Languages and the Cultures of Their Native Speakers to Linguistic Students." Supervised by Iraida Bryksina, PhD, Associate Professor at Derzhavin University.
– Evgeniya Ivashentseva and Abdunazar Bobokulov with the project "Development and Verification of a Regression Model for Predicting the Integral Index of Functional Status in Working Retirees." Supervised by Elena Nevzorova, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor at Derzhavin University.
– Irina Kulikova and Ibrokhimdzhon Kuziev with the project "Hypothermic Syndrome with Neurogenic Impairments in Hypoglycemic Coma (Pavlov-Sokolova Syndrome): Relevance, Diagnosis, and Clinical Characteristics." Supervised by Bogdan Pavlov, Senior Lecturer at Derzhavin University.
– Egor Korabelnikov and Maxim Egorov with the project "Towards the Development of a Module for the Automated Creation of an Individual Educational Trajectory for IT Specialist Training Using Artificial Intelligence Technologies." Supervised by Alexey Samokhvalov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor.
– Farida Aydemirova and Ilya Komarov with their project "Development of Environmentally Safe Anti-Corrosion Preservative Compositions Based on Vegetable Oils for the Protection of Steel from Atmospheric Corrosion." Supervised by Alexander Uryadnikov, PhD, Associate Professor at the Derzhavin Institute.
– Anastasia Nefedova and Inna Vasyukova with their project "Temperature Dependence of Friction and Wear of Silicon-Containing Composite Ceramics Based on Zirconium Dioxide." Supervised by Alexander Dmitrievsky, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Derzhavin Institute.
– Rodion Alekseev, Dmitry Evtyukhin, and Victoria Zhivoderova with their project "Study of the Protective Efficiency of an Expired Medicinal Product against Carbon Steel Corrosion in Hydrogen Sulfide Environments." Supervised by Victoria Kuryato, Associate Professor at the Derzhavin Institute.
– I am very glad I was able to participate in this competition. "It allows research students to tap into the world of 'big' science and develop skills that will be useful in their future careers," says Irina Kuznetsova, a second-year Master's student in Linguistics. "I always enthusiastically tackle research projects. They allow me to acquire and reinforce the skills needed in my scientific career. I've been involved in research since my first years at university. During this time, I've participated in numerous scientific conferences and congresses for young scientists, and I have a solid portfolio of scientific publications, which allows me to participate in scholarship competitions and bring more victories to our university. I want to thank my supervisor and the university administration for the opportunity to develop both academically and professionally."
