Yegor Bychenok and Sofya Kuksgauzen, Derzhavin University students majoring in Jurisprudence took part in the interactive model of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), held at MGIMO. Previously, they successfully passed two correspondence selection stages.
During the work, the students played the roles of representatives of the EAEU member states and ministers of the board. Sofia became the Minister of Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation, and Yegor became the Minister of Trade and Integration. The students took part in debates on customs and transport regulation, and the development of a common economic policy in the form of creating a single digital space on the territory of the EAEU.
Young people are convinced that participation in the EAEU model has allowed them to better understand the complexities of integration processes in the EAEU and the specifics of their international legal regulation.
- It was extremely useful to see how decision-making mechanisms work in a multilateral format and what compromises participating countries have to find to achieve consensus,” noted Sofia Kuxhausen.
