Derzhavin students participated in the 17th International Olympiad "IT-Planet 2026." They joined over 21,000 representatives from over 1,500 universities and colleges from 15 countries. Derzhavin students demonstrated strong results at the largest practice-oriented competition in the field of information and communications technology.
This year, the Olympiad included not only the main competition tracks but also a number of satellite events: the Terra-Polytech Digital Transformation Olympiad, the "Unlimited Possibilities" program for creating inclusive services, the "SportTechInnovations Cup," and the new "Users Cup" championship.
The final round was held online, where participants demonstrated a high level of professional competence by working with Russian software. They solved problems involving building a secure infrastructure fragment using products from the Astra Group ecosystem, configured InfoWatch ARMA products, and developed Ansible playbooks for the RED OS operating system. The finalists presented web applications they developed for surveys on the 1C:Enterprise.Element platform, as well as projects for a communications platform for interaction between students, graduates, and employers. Additionally, the finalists defended their projects in mobile development, unmanned aerial systems, and deepfake detection solutions.
Following the qualifying rounds and final tests of the main program, Derzhavin University was recognized as the best higher education institution in the Tambov Region.
Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin, received a certificate of gratitude signed by Sergey Shalashny, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the IT-Planet International Olympiad. It expresses recognition for the university's systematic work in training young specialists and creating conditions for their personal and professional development.
Also, Alexey Samokhvalov, Head of the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Information Technology at Derzhavin University, received a commendation for the high level of organization and his personal contribution to the success of the Derzhavin University team.
Summing up, the organizers of the 17th International Olympiad "IT-Planet 2026" noted that the "early talent strategy" is becoming a key factor in the development of the Russian IT industry. The integration of participants into the competition program promotes synergy between education and innovation. This allows for testing domestic artificial intelligence in real-world conditions and training personnel capable of working effectively in Russia's new technological reality.
