TSU students Anna Nezhentseva and Elizaveta Tikhonova traveled to China for a two-week educational seminar on youth leadership development organized by the Alliance of Chinese-Russian Universities Offering Language Education. The students are completing the "Chinese Language Bridge" program at Heilongjiang University in Harbin.
Anna and Elizaveta are attending a series of lectures on formats for cooperation between Russian and Chinese youth and modern approaches to promoting Generation Z culture in the two countries. A separate block of classes is devoted to the history and symbolism of ancient Chinese architecture. The lectures are led by Heilongjiang University faculty and experts from the Alliance of Chinese-Russian Universities Offering Language Education.
– We attended a lecture on cultural exchange among young people within the framework of Russian-Chinese relations and learned a sequence of five-step Chinese boxing (wushu). "There were also Chinese grammar classes and oral communication practice," says Elizaveta Tikhonova, a student majoring in Foreign Philology at Derzhavin University. "We also strolled along Harbin's main street, listened to a lecture on architecture, sampled traditional Chinese dishes at a restaurant, attended master classes on making traditional Peking Opera masks, and more."
