Members of the Derzhavin University Tourist Club team became winners and prize winners of the Michurinsk tournament in sports tourism, which took place on the territory of the landscape park - the Michurinskoye Podgorye embankment in the waters of the Lesnoy Voronezh River.
The crews covered a 250-meter track, their path passed through 9 direct, return and reversible gates.
Based on the results of the races, in a tough fight, Derzhavin University students demonstrated high sports achievements.
Based on the results of the tournament in the senior age category among men, Vladislav Prokushev and Dmitry Aristarkhov, students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports won 1st place.
Silver medals went to Daniil Vyatkin, a 1st-year postgraduate student of the Institute of New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence and Iskhak Almazbekov, a 3rd-year student of the Institute of Law and National Security.
Among the mixed teams, the winner was the crew consisting of Anna Goverdovskaya, head of the Derzhavin University Tourist Club, a first-year master's degree student of the Institute of Creative Industries, Economics and Entrepreneurship and Daniil Vyatkin, a first-year postgraduate student of the Institute of New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
Vladislav Prokushev and Sofya Smirnova, students of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports became bronze medalists.
Among women's crews, gold went to second-year students of the Institute of Creative Industries, Economics and Entrepreneurship Sofya Baranova and the Institute of New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence Tatyana Denisova.
Second place went to a third-year student of the Institute of Creative Industries, Economics and Entrepreneurship Margarita Mikhailichenko and a fourth-year student of the Institute of Education and Social Sciences Daria Demyanova.
– The Derzhavin University Tourist Club maintains partnerships with the organizers of the competitions – the 68 Roads Tourist Club of the city of Michurinsk. It is noteworthy that it was during these days that students from Ivanovo State University visited Derzhavin University under the Student Tourism program. They went on an excursion to the regional capital and Michurinsk, trained at the University's sports facilities and took part in water sports competitions, taking 4th place. Having visited Tambov region, Ivanovo residents decided to organize their own tourist club, taking the experience of TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin as a basis, - noted the head of the Derzhavin University tourist club Anna Goverdovskaya. The competitions in Michurinsk are held annually and are dedicated to the memory of the teacher of the young tourists station Irina Belyaeva, who tragically died in 1998 during a sixth-category hike along the Mzymta River in the North Caucasus.
