University Rector Pavel Moiseev and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Elena Zueva participated in the second Russian-Indian Educational Summit, which was held in New Delhi, the capital of India. This large-scale event was organized by Rossotrudnichestvo with the support of the Russian Embassy in India and the Ministry of Education of India. The summit aims to establish new and develop existing contacts in education.
Pavel Moiseev presented the university's potential at the panel session "Medical Education in a Changing World: New Requirements, Challenges, and Opportunities." The session was attended by Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Tatyana Semenova.
"It is worth noticing the increased competition in the international medical education market," commented Pavel Moiseev. "New active countries are emerging, purposefully developing the export of medical education for Indian citizens. We need to strengthen our competitive advantages. We must introduce additional training in areas relevant to the Indian healthcare system, improve educational technologies, actively utilize our scientific potential, and conduct joint training." Derzhavin University is a reliable partner for students from India. We view participation in the summit as an important platform for expert and dialogue engagement to improve cooperation with India in higher medical education.
Furthermore, the rector signed cooperation agreements and memoranda of intent with a number of Indian organizations and attended the opening of an exhibition of Russian universities in New Delhi. The meeting of the Rector with Derzhavin University graduate doctors from India was particularly touching.
