The All-Russian speed skating competition "For the Prizes of the Kolomna Skating Center" was held in the Moscow Region. More than 200 athletes from different regions of the country took part in the tournament, including three Derzhavin University students.
Ilya Ivanov, a student at the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation, became the best in the 5000 m distance. Sofia Godovanskaya, a student at the Institute of New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, took two fourth places in the 500 and 1500 m distances. And in the 3000 m distance, she stopped one step away from victory. Ksenia Ilyicheva from the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation became sixth in the 500 m distance.
– I consider my start as a good beginning of the season. Naturally, there was some nervousness, because the last competitions were in March, but everything went well. I managed to run for a personal best in the 1500 meters, and close to it in the 500 and 3000 meters, shared Sofya Godovanskaya.
