Derzhavin University held the anniversary – tenth – graduation of international students of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation. The diplomas were awarded to 440 young specialists from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, India, Uzbekistan and many other countries who came to Tambov to acquire the profession of a doctor.
– High-quality training of young foreign specialists in demand on the labor market is the task that our University sets for itself, – says Rector Pavel Moiseev. – I hope that over the years of study the University has given you not only knowledge, life experience, but has also become a second home. You – today's graduates from 24 countries of the world – are always welcome in the large international family of Derzhavin University.
The guests of honor at the ceremony were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic to the Russian Federation Sosthene Ndemby, First Counselor of the Embassy of the Gabonese Republic to the Russian Federation Rolland Georges Ontsougou, Deputy Head of the Asian Countries Department of the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Ilya Aleksandrovich Raevsky, and General Director of RAKUS GROUP LLC Avbakar Khatipovich Nutsalov.
The graduates were presented with diplomas and letters of thanks from the University.
– My choice of Derzhavin University was quite deliberate. Before coming to Russia, I studied in India for several years. It was interesting there in its own way, but I did not feel comfortable or confident in the future. When I learned about Derzhavin University – about the educational opportunities, especially in the field of medicine, I felt that this could become a turning point for me. And I was right: it was here that I found the academic environment and support that allowed me to grow as a future doctor, - noted Mukosai Chavana, a graduate of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation of Derzhavin University from Zambia. - In the near future, I plan to continue my education and focus on surgery: this area has always been of particular interest to me. I have always been driven by the idea of helping people at the most critical moments of their lives. For me, the profession of a doctor is not just a job, but a way of life that connects different cultures. I plan to return to my homeland to apply the knowledge I have gained there and contribute to the development of healthcare in my country. I am grateful to fate that Russia became the first step towards my dream.
Derzhavin University has maintained the status of an internationally oriented university for several years. More than 2,100 students from more than 60 countries study here. Back in 2016, seventy-four foreign citizens graduated from the University. That was the first graduation of international students at the University. In 2025, the number of graduates has increased sixfold. Last year, the Association of Foreign Alumni was created in Derzhavin University. This community unites specialists from all over the world who graduated from Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin. This year, a digital platform in English was developed. It will include graduates of different years and demonstrate their achievements.
