The XV All-Russian Conference with international participation “Medical Education Week 2024” is being held at VDNKh. At the conference, a general meeting of the Association “Council of Rectors of Medical and Pharmaceutical Higher Educational Institutions” was held. One of his decisions was to accept Derzhavin University as a member of the Association.
“The development of the Medical Institute has always been a priority for Derzhavin University. Membership in the Association will help us to integrate more closely into the all-Russian space of medical and pharmaceutical education. I expect an increase in our capabilities in terms of strengthening ties with recognized centers, developing fundamental and applied scientific research, and the effective participation of our university in the implementation of national programs and priority national projects in the Tambov region in the field of medicine and healthcare,” says the rector Pavel Moiseev.
The key speech at the conference was made by the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko. Among the new priorities for quality medical education in the regions, he mentioned the critical role of universities in protecting public health, in education for the purpose of longevity and in medical volunteering. He also touched upon the topic of transforming universities into think tanks for government agencies and the professional community.
