Derzhavin University joined the International Historical Action "Victory Dictation".
The annual action is held in all regions of Russia and abroad. It is designed to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War and increase interest in studying Russian history.
- Derzhavin University, as a classical university, sees its task not only in education, but also in preserving historical memory and enlightenment. Preserving the memory of the exploits of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War is our duty. And it is important not only to remember, but also to constantly expand our knowledge of these events, - comments the rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseyev. - We actively hold patriotic events dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, and are glad to be a partner in organizing such significant events as the "Victory Dictation". On the eve of Victory Day, the renovated Alley of Glory memorial will be opened, where the names of war participants who linked their fate with our university are immortalized. The "Family Stories of Victory" project has already been launched on the University's resources, where the memories of Derzhavin University residents about relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War are published. A number of other initiatives will also be implemented.
More than 200 students and teachers of TSU tested their knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War.
- I became interested in testing myself and my knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War, so I decided to write the Victory Dictation, - says Dmitry Kalak, a second-year student majoring in Finance at Derzhavin University (Secondary Vocational Education). - I specially revised history, preparing for the dictation, in order to refresh my knowledge and be confident in my answers.
This year, the "Victory Dictation" campaign is being held for the seventh time and brings together participants from Russia and foreign countries.
– For me, participation in the Victory Dictation is an opportunity to express my respect for the history of Russia and the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. This is important for understanding the culture of the country in which I am currently studying, – comments Elmasri Gina (Egypt), a first-year student majoring in General Medicine. – It is great that the Victory Dictation is held in many countries. This shows that the memory of the Great Patriotic War is important for all of us, regardless of nationality. I am glad to be part of this international event. In Derzhavin University, along with in-person participation in the dictation, a live broadcast of the opening ceremony of the International Historical and Educational Action “Victory Dictation” from Moscow was organized. A concert program with patriotic songs was held for all participants. A field kitchen was in operation.
