Derzhavin University celebrated its main student holiday, Tatiana's Day. This year, the event brought together approximately 1,500 students. On the eve of Russian Student Day, the university organized a mass ice skating event, a student house party, a "Video Business Card: Advice from a Mentor" master class, a meeting between Derzhavin University administration and student activists, an awards ceremony, and a disco party.
"Our beloved Tatiana's Day is a symbol of the unity of Russian students throughout history. It reminds us of the meetings, acquaintances, emotions, and dreams of those wonderful student years, when it seems like everything is ahead and everything will definitely work out," noted Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University. "I know for certain that among Derzhavin University students are the leaders of tomorrow. Therefore, I wish you the energy to achieve all your goals. And then the moment when your ideas and deeds will change the whole world will surely come!"
Yana Radyukova, Vice-Rector for Education, Youth Policy, and Educational Work, presented awards to activists, volunteers, organizers, athletes, artists, and intellectuals—all whose names have become synonymous with success and dedication to their university. "My student life has been very eventful." "From the very beginning of my studies, I've been actively involved in creative and social events. At my institute, I've been the head of the music club for three years now. My students and I try to perform as often as possible at various competitions and creative events both at the university and in the city," said fourth-year student Evgeny Kostyaev of the Engineering and Technical Institute. "Since the beginning of this year, I've become deputy chairman of the ITI Student Council. Together with my team, we encourage students to participate in an active lifestyle as much as possible, showing by our own example how cool and honorable it is to be an activist for Derzhavin."
