Derzhavin University celebrated the 30th anniversary of economic education at TSU. A ceremony honoring representatives of the region's economic community who contributed to the development of science at Derzhavin University was held in the hall of the Educational Theater.
TSU Rector Pavel Moiseev, representatives of the Government of Tambov Region, the Tambov City Administration, the Tambov Regional Duma and other distinguished guests congratulated the participants of the ceremonial event.
– The 30th anniversary of economic education at our University is not just an anniversary date, but an entire era filled with achievements, professional victories, bold decisions and constant movement forward, – comments Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University . – The first intake of economics students to the Faculty of Economics and Law took place at the University in 1994, and a year later, on April 1, it became an independent structural division of the University. Its opening is associated with socio-economic transformations in the country and the need for qualified personnel in the economic and managerial profile. Since its creation, the faculty has been actively developing, responding to the challenges of the time and adapting to changes in state economic policy. Over three decades, having come a long way to become a major educational center, it continues to play a key role in training specialists capable of effectively solving current problems of the federal and regional economy.
At the ceremony, Derzhavin University awarded commemorative diplomas to the heads of the economic institute of different years. The awards were received by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation Tatyana Gostilovich; Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Vyacheslav Abdukarimov; Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Olga Stepicheva; Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Igor Groshev; Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Elena Yurina; Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Evgeniya Karpunina; Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Elena Merkulova.
– The Faculty of Economics is my life’s work, – says Tatyana Gostilovich, the first dean of the Faculty of Economics (1995), PhD in Economics, Professor, and Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation. – We have come a long way in development. And I am immensely grateful to everyone who was with me. Now I walk around the faculty and am happy, comparing it with where we started. The first intake was three specialties, and now there are many times more, and all graduates are in demand on the labor market.

Today, scientific schools successfully operate here, dissertations are defended and scientific works are published. This is the result of many years of work and dedication of the entire team, - noted Associate Professor Tatyana Kozhevnikova , director of the Institute of Creative Industries, Economics and Entrepreneurship, PhD in Economics.
On this day, creative teams from Derzhavin University presented a concert program for all participants and guests of the event.
