Derzhavin University celebrates 105 th Anniversary since its founding. A gala evening dedicated to the anniversary of the University was held at Tambov Drama Theater. The head of Tambov region, Maxim Egorov, congratulated the university community. Rector Pavel Moiseev awarded the head of the Tambov region Maxim Egorov with the Derzhavin Order for continuing the university traditions.
Professor of Derzhavin University, author of a book about the history of the university, Alexander Avrekh, was awarded a letter of gratitude from the Government of Tambov Region. For many years of conscientious work and great personal contribution to the development of Derzhavin University and higher education, the gold medal of the University was awarded to Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Galina Pervova, chief accountant of the university from 1999 to 2023. Valentina Sysoeva, curator of the Derzhavin Museum of Medicine fund Yuri Shchukin. The silver medal was awarded to university veteran, honorary worker of higher education, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Irina Blokhina, veteran Derzhavinsky, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Vera Orlova, candidate of art history, professor Valentina Sazonova, candidate of psychological sciences, professor Boris Tenyushev. For fruitful cooperation and contribution to the development of Russian education and youth education, the Derzhavinsky silver medal was received by the Deputy Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Negrova, Doctor of Military Sciences, President of the Serbian Royal Academy of Innovative Sciences, honorary Professor of Derzhavin University Velibor Stevich, Russian politician, deputy of the State Duma of the 8th convocation from the United Russia party, member of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection Yulia Drozhzhina. To mark the anniversary of the university, the Drama Theater opened the exhibition “Milestones of the Great Path”, dedicated to the history of Derzhavin Tambov State University and telling about the stages of its development. The basis of the exhibition is the stock collections of documents and visual sources of the Museum of History of Derzhavin University.
In 1918, by decree of the Council of People's Commissars in Tambov, the first higher educational institution was formed - Tambov State University. In different eras it was transformed, changed names, but always remained a key institution for the development of Tambov region. Today, more than 200 educational programs are being implemented in Derzhavin University. The University has 13,000 students from 71 regions of Russia and 55 countries. 76% of lectures are candidates or doctors of science. Derzhavina Tambov State University is the winner of the state university development program “Priority 2030”.
