Derzhavin Tambov State University is carrying out comprehensive work to create a new clinical hospital, which will open opposite the university campus on Komsomolskaya Square in the regional center this year.
The four-story building of the former student dormitory is experiencing a second birth. A complete renovation has been carried out here - the roof has been overhauled, utility lines have been replaced, the building's façade has been insulated and clad, general construction work is nearing completion, ventilation and oxygen systems, elevator equipment and the Internet are being installed.
– One of the driving forces of Derzhavin University is the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation. Currently, special attention is paid to the formation of practical competencies of future doctors, strengthening the material and technical base of the clinical hospital, and equipping them with modern medical equipment. This is a stage in the evolution of our multidisciplinary medical center "Doctor Profi", whose activities enjoy the trust and respect of patients, – noted the rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseev. – The clinical hospital will have an outpatient clinic and an inpatient department, an operating unit and an intensive care unit, and will provide a full range of high-tech medical care. Twice a week, we plan to hold university days, when our medical students and residents will be able to be present during surgical operations. With the help of a multimedia complex, students will be able to observe the course of the surgical process in real time. During surgical intervention, they will receive the necessary consultations from teachers and practicing doctors. This will allow us to build up the scientific and personnel potential of the university and improve the level of training of specialists.
The new multidisciplinary medical complex will include departments of general surgery, traumatology, urology, gynecology, and dentistry. The clinical hospital will be fully equipped for the convenience of movement of people with disabilities. A car park and ambulance parking lot will be set up nearby.
– The concept of the clinical hospital assumes full patient routing. Patients will be able to receive qualified medical care, diagnostics and treatment in the outpatient clinic, emergency room and hospital, which is designed for twelve beds with round-the-clock observation. Our specialists will perform innovative operations using laser technologies. Doctors have been trained and prepared in the largest medical centers of Moscow and St. Petersburg. The advantages of such operations are minimal risks of developing postoperative complications, rapid recovery of patients. The university clinical hospital plans to provide medical services unique for the region – phlebology, surdology and hearing aids, dental treatment under anesthesia for adults and children, – said Nikolai Denisov, director of the multidisciplinary clinical center of Derzhavin University.

Therefore, the main task of the Derzhavin University Clinical Hospital is to care for the health of patients, provide high-quality medical services, create comfortable conditions for the stay of patients, and train and employ university graduates.
