On Financier's Day, students and faculty at Derzhavin University met with Lyubov Tretyakova, Deputy Head of the Tambov Region and Minister of Finance. Together, they discussed regional financial policy, strategies for managing the budget and public debt, and prospects for professional development and youth employment.
The Minister spoke about managing regional finances amidst modern economic challenges, approaches to reducing the cost of servicing public debt, and the efficient allocation of budget funds. The topic of future professional development was of particular interest to the audience. Lyubov Tretyakova emphasized the demand for young professionals in the regional economy and invited students to undertake internships at the Ministry. Such internships offer the opportunity not only to gain an insider's view of the regional finance agency's operations but also to try their hand at solving real-world professional tasks.
The meeting also addressed the development of regional tourism. Alexander Shevyakov, Head of the Department of Service and Tourism at Derzhavin University, discussed the targeted use of tourism tax revenues to develop local infrastructure and enhance the region's appeal. The Minister supported this initiative and encouraged students to develop concrete projects for presentation at the municipal level, demonstrating how financial tools can transform the region.
