For several years in a row, Derzhavin university has been the base for the semi-finals of the All-Russian Student Olympiad "I Am a Professional" in various fields. This is one of the flagship projects of the presidential platform "Russia – Land of Opportunity." The Olympiad is being implemented as part of the federal project "Social Elevators for Everyone" of the national project "Education" and is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. This is the ninth season that Derzhavin residents have been actively participating in the Olympiad.
In the 2025/2026 academic year, the university's track record includes co-organizations in 12 areas: Geography, History and Culture of Russia, Classroom Teacher, Pedagogical Education (Preschool), Pedagogical Education (Basic), Advertising and Public Relations, Sociology, Special Education (Defectology), Tourism, Economics, Jurisprudence, and Linguistics and Literary Criticism.
The semi-final in the Tourism area was held offline for the first time at our university. RUDN University organized the event, with Derzhavin University serving as a co-organizer.
The semi-final in the Pedagogical Education (Basic) area was held as an online demonstration training session with the participation of a group of Derzhavin University volunteers. Students impersonated schoolchildren in history, social studies, foreign languages, literature, algebra, and other school curriculum subjects taught by competitors.
Participants in the "Pedagogical Education (Preschool)" program designed various lessons for preschoolers in real time, taking into account their age, using modern technologies, methods, and formats. They then defended their projects before a panel of judges and representatives of Tambov preschool education institutions.
The university's online platform hosted 69 semifinalists in the "Pedagogical Education (Basic)," "Pedagogical Education (Preschool)," and "Class Teacher" programs—students from various cities and regions of the country, including Moscow, Penza, Nizhny Novgorod, and other regions.
